This plugin is pretty simple. You can use Dropbox or Amazon's S3 to store WordPress.

You can also use an FTP account. It is highly recommended that you use an FTP account that is truly, meaning separate domain name (and more importanyly, separate a IP address).

If this directory is writable: a file containingwpTimeMachine-archive.tar.gz in the name will be created (wpTimeMachine-archive.tar.gz might be prepended with a date if you choose the timestamp option below). These files will appear in wpTimeMachine-archive.tar.gz:

  1. wpTimeMachine-content-files.tar.gz
  2. wpTimeMachine-data-files.sql.gz
  3. wpTimeMachine-htaccess.tar.gz [1]
  4. wpTimeMachine-Instructions.txt [2]
[1] if you're not using .htaccess then no, it won't be created
[2] if you're ever recovering from a catastrophic WordPress failure, this file will help
