== Installation ==

= Quick setup (under 2 minutes) =

1. Create a free account at [popabot.com](https://popabot.com/register).
2. Build your chatbot in the dashboard — pick a template, train it on your content (paste a URL to crawl, upload PDFs/documents, add Q&A pairs).
3. Open the Embed Code section on your chatbot's page and copy either the **Chatbot ID** or the full `<script>` embed.
4. In WordPress, upload this plugin (Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin), or upload the `popabot` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/` via FTP, then activate it.
5. Go to **Settings → PopABot** and paste your Chatbot ID or embed code. The widget enables automatically.

= Page targeting (optional) =

* Choose **All pages**, **All pages except…**, or **Only specific pages**.
* Enter one page path per line. Use `*` for wildcards (e.g. `shop*` matches `/shop` and `/shop/shoes` but not `/shopping`).
* Full URLs are accepted — only the path portion is used.

= Caching plugins =

The plugin auto-clears WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache and WP Fastest Cache whenever you save settings or deactivate. No manual purge needed.

= Removing the chatbot =

* **Temporary** — toggle "Enable Chatbot" off in Settings → PopABot. Your Chatbot ID is preserved.
* **Permanent** — deactivate the plugin (widget stops immediately) or delete it (all plugin options are removed).

Yes — the Starter plan is free and includes everything you need to get a chatbot live on your site. = Where do I find my Chatbot ID? =

Log in to your [PopABot dashboard](https://popabot.com/chatbots), click on your chatbot, and find it in the Embed Code section. You can paste either the raw Chatbot ID or the full embed code snippet — the plugin will extract the ID automatically.

= What can the chatbot do? =

Out of the box: answer questions from your content (pages, PDFs, FAQs), capture leads with custom forms, book appointments via Google Calendar, recommend WooCommerce products, look up order status, run quiz / assessment flows, and route conversations to the right answer with a visual flow builder. Configuration is done on popabot.com.

= Does it support multiple languages? =

Yes — the chatbot supports 9 languages out of the box (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Turkish, Polish). It auto-detects the visitor's browser language.

= Will it slow down my site? =

No. The chatbot script loads asynchronously in the footer and does not block page rendering. It has no measurable impact on Core Web Vitals.

= Does it work with WooCommerce? =

Yes — and with deeper integration than just sitting on the page. The chatbot can search your WooCommerce catalog by description, surface stock and ratings, recommend products in conversation, and look up order status (shipping stage, tracking, estimated delivery) for your customers.

= Can I show the chatbot on specific pages only? =

Yes. In Settings → PopABot, choose "Only specific pages" or "All pages except…" and list the page paths. Wildcards supported (e.g. `shop*` matches all shop pages but not `/shopping`).

Yes. The plugin auto-purges WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache and WP Fastest Cache whenever you change settings. No manual cache clearing needed.

= What data is sent to PopABot? =

When the widget is enabled, visitor messages are sent to PopABot to generate replies. When an admin saves a Chatbot ID, the ID is sent to PopABot to verify the connection. = Is the chatbot GDPR-friendly? =

Yes — lead capture forms support GDPR consent checkboxes, and visitors can delete their own conversation history from the chat widget. Data ownership stays with you (the account holder).

= What happens when I deactivate the plugin? =

The chatbot stops showing immediately. Your settings are preserved so you can reactivate later without re-configuring.

= What happens when I delete the plugin? =

All plugin settings are removed from the database. You will need to re-enter your Chatbot ID if you reinstall.
