# Upgrade and recovery

## Before upgrading

1. Create a WordPress database and files backup.
2. Open **Yatoon Booking > Sync & Logs > Operations** and confirm that no migration or background job is running.
3. Export a diagnostics package and note the installed Yatoon version.
4. Upgrade on staging first when the site uses custom snippets, aggressive caching, or payment customizations.

Yatoon records an upgrade snapshot before a database migration. The Operations screen shows migration state, recent failures, and recovery controls.

## If an upgrade is interrupted

Do not repeatedly reactivate or reinstall the plugin. Keep the database backup, open the Operations screen, and download the privacy-safe diagnostics package. Retry only a failed background job that is explicitly shown as retryable.

## Rollback

Use Yatoon's rollback control only for a migration snapshot created by the same site. A code rollback and a database rollback are different operations: restore both from the same backup point when a full rollback is required. Never restore a production database over newer confirmed appointments without first exporting those appointments.

## Support bundle

Include the diagnostics package, WordPress/PHP versions, active booking platform, approximate failure time, and steps to reproduce. The bundle intentionally excludes payment secrets and customer message bodies.
