# Podcast Shows

**Admin menu:** Podcasts → All Podcasts / Add New Podcast

## Show content

- **Title** — show name
- **Editor** — long show description / about page
- **Featured image** — show artwork (used in RSS and public pages)
- **Excerpt** — optional WordPress excerpt (show subtitle field is preferred for RSS/cards)

## Podcast Show Data

| Default Explicit Setting | Inherited by episodes unless overridden |
| RSS Enabled for This Show | Per-show RSS toggle |
| RSS Media Priority | Audio-first or video-first for enclosures |

## Distribution Links

Optional Apple, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon, and website URLs for public show pages.

The **Generated RSS Feed URL** side panel is read-only. It shows a copyable URL when global RSS (**Podcast Settings**) and **RSS Enabled for This Show** are both on. If RSS is disabled, the panel explains whether the global or show switch is off.

## RSS Readiness

Side panel checklist (collapsed by default). Does not block saving. Shows a warning when RSS is enabled but required items are missing.

## Episodes panel

Lists episodes assigned via **Parent Podcast Show** on each episode. Use **Add New Episode** to create an episode with the show pre-selected.

## Podcast Categories

Taxonomy `podcast_category` for internal site organization (separate from Podcast App Category).
