The webring-manager plugin provides a set of flexible blocks to display and share members of your webring. This page explains how websites are organized and how each available block works.

Managing Webring Websites

All webring members are stored as a custom post type. You can manage them in the WordPress dashboard here.

Each entry represents a single website in a webring. When creating or editing a website, you can:

• Set a title
• Set the website URL in the sidebar - this is important!
• Set a featured image (used in certain blocks)
• Assign categories

These categories are especially important, as some blocks allow filtering based on them.

Available Blocks

Webring Website List

This block works like the "Latest Posts" block and comes with two different view:

1. Grid View (with optional featured images)

This block displays webring websites in a visual grid layout.

• Optionally shows the featured image of each website
• Ideal for showcasing members in a more engaging, visual way
• Can be filtered by categories (e.g. only show websites in the Blog category)

Use this block when you want to highlight your webring members prominently, especially if they provide good visuals.

2. List View (without Featured Images)

This block presents webring websites as a simple list.

• No featured images are displayed
• Focuses on titles and basic information
• More compact and faster to scan

This is a good choice for minimal layouts or when you want a clean, text-focused overview of all members.

HTML Snippet Block

This block outputs a ready-to-use HTML snippet.

• Designed for embedding your webring on external sites
• Can be copied and shared with webring members
• Helps standardize how the webring is displayed across different websites

Use this block when you want to provide members with an easy way to link back to the webring.
