**Simple Post Counter** will record post and page impressions, and then display them on your administration edit page and posts menu. You can optionally display the count as an image or text in a post or page with shortcode.





Features include:





* Records basic incremental impressions of each post and page.


* Displays the count in a post or page with shortcode.


* Eight image libraries included. You may use any digit image set you like.


* Scales digit images dynamically (as defined in your shortcode).


* Adds the view count to the administration edit menu and post menu.

**Simple Post Counter** is simple in that it's lightweight and only does what's advertised. Various analytics programs (and other impression tools like AdSense) tend to fail miserably when providing a live page impression counts, and displaying that information on your page is challenging. This plugin is designed to provide an immediate, real time, and accurate page impression count.





Future versions will add more features and functionality.

== Installation ==





**To install the plugin manually:**





1. Extract the contents of the archive (zip file)


2. Upload the simple-post-counter folder to your '/wp-content/plugins' folder


3. Activate the plugin through the Plugins section in your WordPress admin panel.





**Upload via the WordPress administration panel:**





1. Click on "Plugins" in the left panel, then click on "Add new".


2. You should now see the Install Plugins page. Click on "Upload".


3. Click on Browse and select your simple-post-counter.zip" file.


4. Click on "Install now", activate it and you're done!
