Generate random quotes and inspiring messages or affirmations on your WordPress website using shortcode.

== Description ==

**Qotz** is a very simple plugin that'll generate a random, inspiring and notable quote or affirmation on your website every hour. It utilises the QOTZ.net API. 

Features include:

* Customize how the quote renders on your page.
* Data is cached locally (using the WordPress transient API) for 60 minutes.
* Over 100,000 quotes.

== Installation ==

**To install the plugin manually:**

1. Extract the contents of the archive (zip file)
2. Upload the qotz folder to your '/wp-content/plugins' folder
3. Activate the plugin through the Plugins section in your WordPress admin panel.

**Upload via the WordPress administration panel:**

1. Click on "Plugins" in the left panel, then click on "Add new".
2. You should now see the Install Plugins page. Click on "Upload".
3. Click on Browse and select your "qotz.zip" file.
4. Click on "Install now", activate it and you're done!

**What will the plugin do?**

The QOTZ.net quotes plugin will retrieve a random quote from our own Qotz.net API and display the data anywhere on your website.

**I can't see shortcode in my WordPress sidebar. What should I do?**

There's an option to uncomment a single line at the bottom of the qotz.php file that'll enable shortcodes in widgets. Additional information is available on our support website.

**What are the plans for the future?**

We plan on implementing a large number of improvements. They include:

* TV and movie quotes.
* Additional formatting options.
* Request quote based on specific keywords or type of quote (history, politics, comedy, individual, gender etc.)
* Cache more quotes locally and rotate them more often.
