Automated document printing for WordPress and WooCommerce via modular cloud-printing connectors.

== Description ==

PrintPilot automatically prints documents from your WordPress-Plugins.

As soon as a supported plugin creates a document (for example an invoice,
delivery note or shipping label), PrintPilot can send it directly to a
configured printer — without manual downloads or clicks.

PrintPilot does not create documents on its own.
It simply detects when documents become available and forwards them
to the printer you selected.

This makes it ideal for shops, offices and organizations that want
reliable, hands-off printing.

No frontend output.
No document builders.
No layout editors.
Just automated printing.

== How it works ==

1. A supported plugin creates a document.
2. PrintPilot detects the document.
3. Your printing rules are applied.
4. The document is sent to your configured printer.

Once set up, printing runs in the background.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= What exactly does PrintPilot do? =

PrintPilot automatically sends documents to a printer
as soon as they are created by a supported plugin.

Example:
An invoice is generated in your shop → PrintPilot sends it directly to your office printer.

No manual download.
No manual printing.

= Does PrintPilot create invoices or shipping labels? =

No.

Invoices, delivery notes or labels are created by other plugins
(e.g. Germanized or Shiptastic).

PrintPilot only handles the automatic printing part.

= Do I need a cloud printing service? =

Yes.

PrintPilot currently uses PrintNode to communicate with your printers.
You need an active PrintNode account and at least one configured printer.

= Does PrintPilot slow down my website? =

No.

PrintPilot runs in the WordPress admin area.
It does not add frontend scripts, tracking or external calls
unless you actively configure a printing provider.

= Can I choose which documents should be printed? =

Yes.

You can configure which supported document types
should be sent to which printer.

= What happens if a printer is offline? =

PrintPilot forwards the job to the printing provider.
Queue handling and retry behavior depend on the configured provider
(e.g. PrintNode).

== External Services ==

PrintPilot can integrate with third-party cloud printing services.
These services are optional and are only used if the site administrator
actively configures them in the plugin settings.

PrintPilot does not connect to any external service by default.

PrintPilot can connect to the PrintNode cloud printing service
to deliver print jobs to configured printers.

Service: PrintNode (cloud printing service)  
Purpose: Send print jobs from WordPress to a selected printer  
Data sent:

- API key (used for authentication via HTTPS)
- Printer identifier
- Job information (for example document title and content type)
- Print options (for example tray, bin or rotation settings)
- Printable document data (for example PDF content encoded for transmission)

When data is sent:

- When an administrator saves or tests the API key (account verification request)
- When the administrator loads or refreshes available printers
- When a supported plugin triggers a print job
