PeepSo Migrate has been created to help move entire BuddyPress based communities to PeepSo in just few clicks.

== Description ==

This migrator has been created to enable administrators of BuddyPress-based communities to move easily to PeepSo and experience social networking for WordPress at its best.

All that is required is to: 
* Have BuddyPress installed.
* Have PeepSo installed.
* Have PeepSo Migrate installed.
Then you go to PeepSo Migrate, click the ‘Start Migration’ button. Confirm. Wait. Done.

It does not get any simpler than that. When we say ‘done’ we really mean it’s done. Not only your community is moved to PeepSo, but at the same time, BuddyPress and PeepSo Migrate are disabled. All necessary shortcodes are set in WordPress pages and your community is ready to be used with PeepSo. 

Please note that this is still a BETA release. As such should not be used on production sites just yet.

= From your WordPress dashboard =

1. Visit 'Plugins > Add New'
2. Search for ‘PeepSo Migrate’
3. Press install
4. Activate PeepSo Migrate from your Plugins page.


= From WordPress.org =

1. Download PeepSo Migrate
2. Navigate to the Admin area of your site.
3. Go to Plugins > ‘Add New’.
4. Select ‘Upload Plugin’.
5. Select the ZIP installation file of PeepSo Migrate.
6. Activate PeepSo Migrate from your Plugins page.


== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= What does PeepSo Migrate move? =

Because BuddyPress and PeepSo do not share exactly the same sets of features, some of the data on BuddyPress cannot currently be moved.

Depending on the BuddyPress components and PeepSo plugins installed, the migrator is able to transfer the following data:
* Users
* User avatars
* User friends
* Activity stream (User status updates and comments on status updates)
* User messages
* Notifications

= Does PeepSo Migrate work with 3rd party BuddyPress plugins? =

As much as we’d love to have all of the data covered. There are too many BuddyPress plugins. We have focused on core BuddyPress and its official extensions. Third party plugins are not supported.

= How long does it take to migrate everything? =

Depending on the size of of your community, meaning:
* Number of users
* Number of posts
* Number of comments
* Number of messages
* Number of notifications
* Number of friend connections
It can take just a few seconds, minutes or hours. The move is also influenced by the server speed you’re hosting your site on. 

We have tested moving few hundred users with over 15,000 activities etc. on a shared hosting environment and it has taken about 4 minutes to migrate everything from BuddyPress to PeepSo.

= What does the migration process look like? =

It’s really simple. 
* Have BuddyPress installed.
* Have PeepSo installed.
* Have PeepSo Migrate installed.
Then you go to PeepSo Migrate, click the ‘Start Migration’ button. Confirm. Wait. Done.

= What if I have some data in PeepSo? =

PeepSo Migrate has been created to move communities from BuddyPress to PeepSo. Having that said, it’s not able to merge a BuddyPress based community to an existing PeepSo one. All PeepSo data will be removed and substituted with the data taken from BuddyPress.

= Can I use PeepSo Migrate to move my community to a different website? =

PeepSo Migrate can be used to migrate a BuddyPress based community to PeepSo within the same WordPress installation. It can’t move / migrate all the data between websites.
