The Narrative plugin let's you select which posts you want to create Narrative magazines with.

== Description ==

The Narrative plugin let's you selectively choose posts to apply the [Narrative](http://www.narrativetale.com) platform to. Easily set your application key and choose which Narrative templates to use on each post.

With the Narrative platform you can turn your longform WordPress posts into a well-designed magazine-style article. The Narrative platform supports print-like features such as:

- a diverse set of well-crafted layouts
- touch, mouse and keyboard friendly pagination, no more scrolling
- multi-column articles
- high quality typography
- drop-caps
- pullquotes
- large photography
- animations
- rich video

= Using Narrative =

Narrative is built to work with mainly HTML5 standard semantic article content. It attempts to remove any inline styling or extraneous elements and simply uses the underlying semantic elements. It then applies it's template layout and styling that you chose for the post. Narrative does not support:

- `<object>` based videos or content
- `<iframe>` embedded elements other than YouTube videos
- links or alignment attributes on embedded media

= Inserting images =

Images are a fantastic way to enhance your article. Narrative works best with full-sized images and not thumbnails so users don't have to click to see the full image. Of course, try to keep images below typical screen sizes to avoid bandwidth costs (for example keeping the dimensions below below 1366x768).

When inserting an image, feel free to add a title, caption, alt text and description, but be sure to adjust the attachment display settings to 

- Alignment: None
- Link To: None
- Size: Full Size

Narrative also supports responsive images, so you can specify a different image to use that has a different aspect ratio or smaller resolution depending on the device or window size. This is great for reducing bandwidth costs, providing higher quality images on better displays and ensuring a diversity of imagery in different aspect ratios. 

To do this, insert a baseline image into your post. Then, go to the "Text" tab to see the underlying markup. Add a data-sources attribute to the <img> tag and insert a comma separated list of images. Each image should include the src path, pixel density ratio, width and height. An example looks like this:

== Installation ==

Use the built-in wordpress admin installation mechanism (recommended):

1. Go to your Wordpress admin page, choose 'Plugins' in the menu.
1. Click 'Add New', search for 'Narrative', click 'Install Now'.
1. Activate the plugin.
1. Go to the 'Settings' > 'Wordpress settings' page in your admin portal and enter your application key.
1. Go to the desired post's edit page and find the Narrative meta box to set the appropriate Narrative templates to use.

OR manually install the plugin and theme:

1. Upload the entire narrative folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
1. Install the narrative theme by copying the folder to the /wp-content/themes/ directory.
1. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
1. Go to the 'Settings' > 'Wordpress settings' page in your admin portal and enter your application key.
1. Go to the desired post's edit page and find the Narrative meta box to set the appropriate Narrative templates to use.

= When I preview my page it shows up blank. What's going on? =

Narrative is still a bit fragile. We are working out the kinks. Start by going to your post's content and ensuring that there aren't any funny elements (`<object>` tags, `<iframe>`s or other interesting elements). Remove them one by one and see if that helps. If not, please contact us at hello at narrativetale.com.
