User Guide: Link List in HitMouse
Overview
The Link List in HitMouse provides an organized overview of all shortened and tracked links. It includes features like sorting, searching, and copying link addresses for easy management.
Accessing the Link List
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Navigate to HitMouse > Links.
- The Link List will display all created links in a table format.
Columns in the Link List
Each row in the table represents a link. The following columns are displayed:
- Slug:
The unique identifier for the shortened link (e.g.,
promo123).
- Target URL:
The original URL where users are redirected.
- Clicks:
The total number of times the link has been clicked.
- Referrers:
The most common referrer sources (e.g.,
google.com).
- Category:
The category assigned to the link (optional). Useful for organizing links into groups.
- Actions:
Quick action buttons for managing the link, including:
- Edit: Modify the slug, target URL, or other settings.
- Delete: Permanently remove the link.
- Copy: Copy the shortened link address to your clipboard.
Copying Link Addresses
- Locate the link you want to copy in the Link List.
- Click the Copy button in the Actions column.
- The shortened link address will be copied to your clipboard, ready to paste and share.
Sorting the Link List
- Click on a column header (e.g., Clicks, Target URL) to sort the table by that column.
- The first click sorts in ascending order, and a second click sorts in descending order.
- Sorting helps you find top-performing links or organize data alphabetically.
Searching for Links
- Use the Search Bar located above the Link List.
- Enter keywords related to the slug, target URL, or category.
- The list will dynamically update to show matching results.
Filtering by Categories
- Click the Filter by Category dropdown above the table.
- Select a category to display only links within that category.
- Clear the filter to return to the full list.
Best Practices
- Regularly sort the Clicks column to identify top-performing links.
- Use descriptive slugs to make links easier to search and identify.
- Assign categories to keep links organized, especially when managing many entries.
Troubleshooting
- Link Not Found in List: Use the search bar or ensure the link was saved correctly.
- Copy Button Not Working: Verify that JavaScript is enabled in your browser.
