The goals are displayed in the form of Google Gauges == Description == ----- Have you ever set any kind of goals for your blog? Sure you must have mentally said it to post on a daily basis or write atleast 4 articles per month, but how about letting your blog goals go public so that your readers can track them and help you reach those goals? DashboardZone plugin for wordpress lets you set your blog goals and monitor them. The goals are displayed in the form of Google Gauges. There are 5 different Gauges available that you can configure to monitor various blogging metrics. Here are the pre-defined metrics Average Comments/Post - This is total comments divided by total posts on your blog Average Posts/Month - This is total posts divided by total number of periods you have been blogging Current Month Posts - This is the total posts for the current month Comments for this article - For every post, this will track the total comments Total Posts - Overall total number of posts. This is useful if you are starting new and have set a near term goal of reaching say 200 articles in the next 3-4 months == Installation == ------------ * Copy the following files to the appropriate locations: /wp-content/plugins/ | +- DashboardZone.php * Go to the WordPress plugins admin panel then activate the Dashboard Zone plugin. * Goto WordPress Options then select "Dashboard Zoen" from the Options submenu to configure the charts == Frequently Asked Questions == Configuration ------------- For each chart, the main configuration piece is set by the options field width: 200 , height: 200 , min:0 , max:10 , redFrom: 0 , redTo: 1 , yellowFrom:1 , yellowTo: 4 , greenFrom:4 , greenTo:10 Let say you are tracking the comments on each post. You have got a good readership and on an average you get around 5 comments/post Now your goal is to increase the average comments/post. So you can set the following options width: 200 , height: 200 , min:0 , max:25 , redFrom: 0 , redTo: 4 , yellowFrom:4 , yellowTo: 10 , greenFrom:10 , greenTo:25 min:0 and max:25 sets the dial's range redFrom:0 to redTo:4 => If the average comments drop below 4 then the pointer will be in the red zone yellowFrom:4 to yellowTo:10 => If the average comments is between 4 and 10 then it is ok so in the yellow zone greenFrom:10 to greenTo:25 => If the average comments goes above 10 then you have met your goals and hence in the green zone NOTE: We are using Google's Visualization API to display the Gauges. If you want to change the size of the Gauge then try changing the height instead of the width. The width parameter is not as influential as the height parameter. == Screenshots == 1.1 30-Sep-2008 - Added preview within the options panel 1.0 21-Sep-2008 - Initial (public) release.
