=== Inline Editor === Contributors: businessxpand Tags: inline, editor, posts, pages, visual, html, wysiwyg, blog Requires at least: 2.7.1 Tested up to: 2.8.4 Stable tag: 0.5.6 Allow inline editing of your posts and pages from the front end of your blog. == Description == Adds the capacity to edit your content from the front end of your Wordpress blog. Using the excellent [NicEdit](http://nicedit.com "NicEdit") WYSIWYG editor component to give you full control over the look. The main advantages over editing this way over the traditional method is that you can see your content exactly how it will appear using all the styles and formatting of your Wordpress template, plus it's far more convenient this way. Please report any bugs, if you don't tell us it how can we fix it? Please include your Wordpress version and other plugins you have installed. **Current issues** * We are aware that this plugin may not work on all themes. The plugin looks for two elements; the content and the edit link, these may be changed by other plugins or custom themes. As you can imagine there are a lot of these, so if it doesn't work for you please get in touch with a link to your blog and any plugins you have installed, we will endeavour to fix problems as they arise. **New for 0.5.6** * Added class override in the admin section for custom themes that place the content in a different tag/class (using standard jQuery/CSS notation). **Bug fixes for version 0.5.4/0.5.5** * Now looks for the edit post link using the href rather than the class to fix issues with some themes. **Bug fixes for version 0.5.2/0.5.3** * Corrected encoding/decoding of non-UTF8 character sets. **Bug fixes for version 0.5.1** * Content from database version of the page/post used in the editor to fix issues with special tags from other plugins that rewrite the content on the fly. == Installation == 1. Upload the `inline-editor` directory to your `/wp-content/plugins/` directory. 1. Activate the plugin through the `Plugins` menu in WordPress. 1. Navigate to new `Inline Editor` menu item under the `Settings` menu. 1. Select the buttons you want to display. 1. Save the changes. == Usage == 1. Log into your Wordpress admin area, then visit your blog (you need to be logged in to edit posts and pages). 1. Click the standard `Edit this entry` link, but rather than being taken to the admin area you stay on the page. 1. Edit you content then click the icon that looks like a floppy disk (who uses them anymore?). 1. Your content will be updated live, and the page refreshed just to prove it to you.
