# automation-recommender

Analyze the project stack and suggest Claude Code hooks and MCP servers.

## Input

Project profile:

```text
{{PROJECT_PROFILE}}
```

## Process

1. **Read hook patterns** — `reference/hooks-patterns.md`. Extract Claude Code hook and git hook patterns by stack (Node.js, Python, Go, Rust).

2. **Read the MCP server catalog** — `reference/mcp-servers.md`. Extract MCP servers by category (Databases, Version Control, Communication, Search, Development, Cloud).

3. **Match the stack to the patterns** — based on PROJECT_PROFILE, determine:
   - Language/runtime (Node.js, Python, Go, Rust) — which git hooks fit
   - Package manager (npm, pnpm, yarn, pip, cargo) — which tools to use
   - Frameworks and ORM (Prisma, SQLAlchemy, Drizzle) — which MCP servers are relevant
   - Deploy platforms (Vercel, AWS, Cloudflare) — which cloud MCP servers to suggest
   - Task tracker (GitHub Issues, Linear) — which communication MCP servers to suggest

4. **Produce recommendations** — markdown text with two sections

## Result format

```text
RECOMMENDATIONS:
## Recommended Hooks
### <Hook name>
**Rationale:** <why it fits the project's stack>
**Setup:**
<concrete instructions: install, configure, what to add to CLAUDE.md>
### ...
## Recommended MCP servers
### <Server name>
**Rationale:** <why it fits the project's stack>
**Setup:**
<JSON configuration for .mcp.json and setup instructions>
### ...
```

## Rules

- Read-only.
- Recommend only relevant servers and hooks — those matching the stack in PROJECT_PROFILE.
- Every recommendation must include: a name, a rationale, and setup instructions.
- Skip tools already configured (if visible from the profile).
- The result is only the recommendation text in the format above.
