> - **`synthetic` is not a `warning`** — use `variant="synthetic"` for demo or seeded data. `warning` tells the user something is wrong; provenance is a statement of fact, not a problem to fix.
> - **Prefer `<Map attribution>` for licensing credit** — it is placed and sized to the cartographic convention. Reach for `MapNotice` when the badge is about the data, not the basemap.
> - **Keep it to a phrase** — a notice is a label. Anything longer belongs in an `Alert` beside the map.
> - **Overlay needs a positioned ancestor** — the default `layout="overlay"` positions itself absolutely inside the nearest `relative` container.
