### PII Identification Checklist

## Audit Logging Requirements

### What to Log

- Immutable (append-only, no modification or deletion)
- Tamper-evident (cryptographic chaining or WORM storage)
- Centralized (ship to dedicated logging service)
- Retained per policy (SOC2: 1 year, HIPAA: 6 years, GDPR: as needed)
- Searchable for incident investigation
- Include: timestamp, actor, action, resource, outcome, source IP

## Data Retention & Deletion

### Retention Policy Design
