<steps>

<step name="load_state" priority="first">
1. Read `.teddy/STATE.md`
2. Read `.teddy/ROADMAP.md`
3. Check for active team (if in APPLY phase):
   - Read team name from STATE.md
   - Use `TaskList` to get task statuses from shared task list

<step name="health_check">
Run quick health checks before displaying status:

1. **Orphaned teams:** Check `~/.claude/teams/` for teddy-* directories not referenced in STATE.md
2. **Stale worktrees:** Run `git worktree list` and check for teddy-pattern worktrees with no matching active team
3. **STATE.md consistency:** If STATE.md claims active team but team dir is missing → flag

If any issues found, add a health section to the status display:
