# Example: a discharge note the team liked

**Pickle (cat), spay (ovariohysterectomy), 14 October 2026**

Pickle had her spay operation today. We removed her womb and ovaries through a small cut on her tummy. She did really well.

**Medicine**
- Meloxicam oral suspension for cats, 0.25 ml by mouth once a day with food, for 3 days. Next dose due tomorrow morning.

**Her wound**
Pickle has dissolvable stitches under the skin, so there are no stitches to take out. Keep the wound clean and dry and keep her body suit on so she can't lick it.

**Rest**
Keep her indoors for 7 days and stop her jumping on high furniture.

**Food**
A small meal tonight. Her normal food from tomorrow.

**Call us if** the wound bleeds or swells, she hasn't eaten by tomorrow evening, she is very sleepy, or she is sick more than once.

**Recheck**: 3 days, free of charge.
