Sample: 41 member practices that returned the extended-hours questionnaire. Median practice size 7 full-time-equivalent vets (range 3 to 16).

Of these, 17 practices introduced Saturday morning opening between 2022 and 2024.

Practices that open on Saturday mornings see an average of 14 appointments per session in their first year. The range across practices was 6 to 23 appointments per session. Larger practices and those in town centres reported the higher figures.

Average staffing cost per Saturday morning session, as reported by practices: £610.
