# Test Issues - Comprehensive Fix Summary

## Overview

I've systematically identified and fixed all major test suite issues in the Simple Task Master project. Here's a complete summary of the problems found and solutions applied.

## Issues Identified and Fixed

### 1. ✅ **FrontmatterParser Edge Cases** (CRITICAL)

#### **Date Parsing Issue**

- **Problem**: YAML parser returned Date objects instead of strings for ISO dates

- **Received**: `2024-01-01T00:00:00.000Z` (Date object)
- **Fix**: Added `convertDatesToStrings()` method that recursively converts Date objects back to ISO strings after YAML parsing

- **Problem**: String escaping and formatting issues in YAML output
- **Fix**: Updated `yaml.dump()` options:
  - Added `forceQuotes: false` for better quote handling
  - Added `condenseFlow: false` for better formatting
  - Maintained `quotingType: '"'` for consistency

- **Fix**: Completely rewrote `validateTaskData()` method:

#### **Test Environment Configuration**

- **Problem**: JS heap out of memory errors during test runs
- **Fix**: Updated `vitest.config.ts`:
  - Enabled `pool: 'forks'` with `singleFork: true` for better memory isolation
  - Increased timeouts: `testTimeout: 15000`, `hookTimeout: 20000`
  - Reduced concurrency: `maxConcurrency: 2`
  - Added `sequence: { concurrent: false }` to prevent race conditions

#### **Missing Test Utility Methods**

- **Problem**: Tests calling `temp.createDirectory()` but method undefined
- **Fix**: Added backward compatibility alias in `test/helpers/temp-utils.ts`:
