alt: A girl by a sunlit window, the room dark around her
---

Switched to a new wallpaper — a girl by a sunlit window, the room dark except for her.

Coding past midnight, the screen light and the wallpaper light make quite a pair. Today's lesson: don't put side effects inside Svelte 5's `$derived`, or state updates become magic. Note to self, before I trip again.
