# Global guidance

Treat approved specs and the configured project policy as the source of truth.
Separate confirmed facts, assumptions, proposals, and unknowns. Inspect existing
project conventions before proposing code. Scope work to the selected feature or
task; report design, requirement, scope, or breaking drift for reconciliation.

Every handoff names the artifact changed, evidence collected, checks not run, risks,
and the next human decision when one is needed.

## Pausing or resuming work across sessions

Any skill may suggest filling in `shared/templates/handoff.template.md` when a user asks to
pause or resume work between sessions or agents. It is a lightweight continuity note: goal,
current state, completed work, open decisions, blockers, and relevant artifact paths by
reference (never duplicated content). It is not a required step of any workflow and not a skill of its
own.
