Lighting WELL-A course on WELL for lighting professionals

Spirit Hall | Pittsburgh, PA

WELL AP In Person Workshop
Description

Light profoundly influences our well-being. The lighting within spaces not only impacts our ability to perform visual tasks, it also affect our comfort, moods and biological processes. The WELL Building Standard™ (WELL) provides guidelines that minimize disruption to the body’s circadian system, enhance productivity, support good sleep quality and provide appropriate visual acuity. Attendees will learn the intents, requirements and methods of verification for each of the features within the light concept. The session will also highlight key research and provide direction and strategies for lighting practitioners who are interested in WELL or working on a project pursuing WELL Certification.

IWBI Presents: Why WELL? The Proof is in the People

The future of design means incorporating interventions that result in positive health outcomes into the buildings and communities where we live, work and play. This presentation will provide a brief introduction to the WELL Building Standard™ (WELL™) and introduce two case studies - Arup Boston and Structure Tone NYC - demonstrating strategies for advancing health and well-being in commercial offices. Panelists will discuss the process to achieve WELL Certification and participants will learn how to identify project considerations and metrics in order to make the business case for WELL.
