### Changed

- Replace `setup` with one-time `init`; keep `setup` as a deprecated alias.
- Stop installing launchd or systemd user services. `init` removes an existing
  persistent service when upgrading and keeps only local secrets, Obscura, and
  client configuration.

### Fixed

- Keep the daemon startup lock alive during slow cold starts and terminate the
  complete detached process group before releasing the lock after a timeout.
- Stop retrying tool calls when a connector is closing or the caller cancelled,
  forward cancellation to the shared daemon, and allow long calls up to 10
  minutes instead of the SDK's 60-second default.

### Security

- Authenticate daemon health checks with a random HMAC challenge before trusting
  the endpoint or sending its bearer token to MCP and shutdown routes.
- Update the MCP SDK and vulnerable transitive dependencies to patched versions.
