Ranger uses multiple licenses.

Ranger-authored source code outside the gallery/ directory is licensed
under the MIT License, unless a file or subdirectory explicitly states
otherwise. See LICENSE-MIT.

Ranger-authored source code under gallery/ is licensed under the GNU
Affero General Public License version 3 or later (AGPL-3.0-or-later),
unless a file or subdirectory explicitly states otherwise.

Third-party components remain subject to their respective licenses.

Ranger does not impose a license on programs compiled with Ranger. The
license of generated output follows the source code and other
components from which that output is derived. Compiled or transpiled
forms of AGPL-licensed Gallery programs remain covered by the AGPL.

Alternative commercial licenses may be available for components under
gallery/.

SPDX identifiers:

  AGPL-3.0-or-later   — files under gallery/ (unless otherwise stated)
