{"id":90,"name":"البلد","transliteration":"Al-Balad","translation":"The City","type":"meccan","total_verses":20,"verses":[{"id":1,"text":"لَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِ","translation":"I swear by this city, Makkah","transliteration":"La oqsimu bihatha albaladi"},{"id":2,"text":"وَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِ","translation":"And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city","transliteration":"Waanta hillun bihatha albaladi"},{"id":3,"text":"وَوَالِدٖ وَمَا وَلَدَ","translation":"And [by] the father and that which was born [of him]","transliteration":"Wawalidin wama walada"},{"id":4,"text":"لَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ فِي كَبَدٍ","translation":"We have certainly created man into hardship","transliteration":"Laqad khalaqna alinsana fee kabadin"},{"id":5,"text":"أَيَحۡسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقۡدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ أَحَدٞ","translation":"Does he think that never will anyone overcome him","transliteration":"Ayahsabu an lan yaqdira AAalayhi ahadun"},{"id":6,"text":"يَقُولُ أَهۡلَكۡتُ مَالٗا لُّبَدًا","translation":"He says, \"I have spent wealth in abundance","transliteration":"Yaqoolu ahlaktu malan lubadan"},{"id":7,"text":"أَيَحۡسَبُ أَن لَّمۡ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ","translation":"Does he think that no one has seen him","transliteration":"Ayahsabu an lam yarahu ahadun"},{"id":8,"text":"أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ عَيۡنَيۡنِ","translation":"Have We not made for him two eyes","transliteration":"Alam najAAal lahu AAaynayni"},{"id":9,"text":"وَلِسَانٗا وَشَفَتَيۡنِ","translation":"And a tongue and two lips","transliteration":"Walisanan washafatayni"},{"id":10,"text":"وَهَدَيۡنَٰهُ ٱلنَّجۡدَيۡنِ","translation":"And have shown him the two ways","transliteration":"Wahadaynahu alnnajdayni"},{"id":11,"text":"فَلَا ٱقۡتَحَمَ ٱلۡعَقَبَةَ","translation":"But he has not broken through the difficult pass","transliteration":"Fala iqtahama alAAaqabata"},{"id":12,"text":"وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡعَقَبَةُ","translation":"And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass","transliteration":"Wama adraka ma alAAaqabatu"},{"id":13,"text":"فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ","translation":"It is the freeing of a slave","transliteration":"Fakku raqabatin"},{"id":14,"text":"أَوۡ إِطۡعَٰمٞ فِي يَوۡمٖ ذِي مَسۡغَبَةٖ","translation":"Or feeding on a day of severe hunger","transliteration":"Aw itAAamun fee yawmin thee masghabatin"},{"id":15,"text":"يَتِيمٗا ذَا مَقۡرَبَةٍ","translation":"An orphan of near relationship","transliteration":"Yateeman tha maqrabatin"},{"id":16,"text":"أَوۡ مِسۡكِينٗا ذَا مَتۡرَبَةٖ","translation":"Or a needy person in misery","transliteration":"Aw miskeenan tha matrabatin"},{"id":17,"text":"ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡمَرۡحَمَةِ","translation":"And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion","transliteration":"Thumma kana mina allatheena amanoo watawasaw bialssabri watawasaw bialmarhamati"},{"id":18,"text":"أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ","translation":"Those are the companions of the right","transliteration":"Olaika ashabu almaymanati"},{"id":19,"text":"وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا هُمۡ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ","translation":"But they who disbelieved in Our signs - those are the companions of the left","transliteration":"Waallatheena kafaroo biayatina hum ashabu almashamati"},{"id":20,"text":"عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَارٞ مُّؤۡصَدَةُۢ","translation":"Over them will be fire closed in","transliteration":"AAalayhim narun musadatun"}]}
