# prime-catppuccin-theme

Catppuccin themes for [Prime Agent](https://github.com/PrimeIntellect-ai/prime-agent).
This is a theme-only Prime package: it contains no tools or runtime extension code.

## Themes

| Theme | Mode | Base | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `catppuccin-latte` | Light | `#eff1f5` | The light Catppuccin flavor. |
| `catppuccin-frappe` | Dark | `#303446` | A soft blue-gray dark flavor. |
| `catppuccin-macchiato` | Dark | `#24273a` | A balanced mid-dark flavor. |
| `catppuccin-mocha` | Dark | `#1e1e2e` | The deepest dark flavor. |

The base variables use the official Catppuccin palette. State and panel
backgrounds are subtle blends of the same palette so diffs, tools, and messages
remain easy to distinguish. Latte uses darker, hue-preserving foreground
aliases for readable status and syntax colors on light terminals.

These themes target the Prime Agent v0.8.1 theme schema. The schema is vendored
in `schemas/` so validation does not depend on network access.

## Install

From the public GitHub repository (tracks `main`):

```sh
prime-agent package install git:github.com/andrestobelem/prime-catppuccin-theme
```

For a reproducible install, pin a release tag or full commit instead of
tracking `main`:

```sh
# Replace TAG_OR_COMMIT with a release tag or full commit SHA.
prime-agent package install git:github.com/andrestobelem/prime-catppuccin-theme@TAG_OR_COMMIT
```

Release tags use the `vX.Y.Z` format and must match `package.json`; CI checks
that they do. After pushing a release tag, use it in place of `TAG_OR_COMMIT`.

From a local checkout, for project-only use (run this from your project):

```sh
prime-agent package install /path/to/prime-catppuccin-theme --local
```

Restart Prime Agent or run `/reload` after installing.

## Select a theme

Choose a theme in Prime Agent's theme selector, or set the exact theme name in
`~/.prime/agent/settings.json`:

```json
{
  "theme": "catppuccin-frappe"
}
```

Select one exact theme name. Use a dark flavor with a dark terminal background
and `catppuccin-latte` with a light terminal background. Prime Agent does not
change the terminal's global background, so the terminal palette should match
the selected flavor for the best contrast. For Ghostty, use `catppuccin-frappe`
for dark and `catppuccin-latte` for light.

## Development

```sh
npm install
npm test
npm run pack:check
```

The validator checks the pinned Prime Agent v0.8.1 schema, variable references,
required theme files, and contrast for readable foreground roles. It also keeps
future flavor files compatible without requiring a validator change.
