# Verification

Date: 2026-10-26

## Automated checks

Command:

```sh
npm run check
```

Result: pass.

- TypeScript completed with no errors.
- All 27 tests passed.
- No tests failed, were cancelled, or were skipped.

The tests cover count parsing, settings validation, atomic settings writes, invalid files, threshold scaling, status rendering, notices, forced compaction, queued handoffs, cooldowns, continuation, retries, cancellation, manual commands, and the wizard.

## Pi runtime

Environment: Pi 1.4.0 and Node.js 24.22.1.

The test loaded the package root with Pi's `--extension` option in isolated RPC mode. It then ran `/autocompacter status`.

Result: pass. Pi returned a successful `prompt` response with `disposition: "handled"`. The extension returned the expected limits and settings path. No model request was needed.

## Package contents

Command:

```sh
npm pack --dry-run --json
```

Result: pass. The package contains the extension sources, the `autocompacter/SKILL.md` skill, the README, and the documentation. No archive was written.

## Live model smoke test

Command:

```sh
npm run smoke:live
```

Result: not run against a provider. The preflight check found no OpenAI key or `AUTOCOMPACTER_API_KEY`. The other common provider key variables were also absent. The script stopped before a model request.

The smoke script is ready for a low-cost model with tool support. It checks this sequence:

1. A successful `self-compact` tool call.
2. A compaction entry with `details.source` set to `autocompacter`.
3. An assistant reply with the expected marker after the checkpoint.

Provider credentials and network access are still required for live verification. The cheap-model requirement remains unmet until this test passes.

## Repository delivery

Result: pass. The source is committed on `main` and pushed to the private repository `TheWirelessPhoenix/pi-autocompacter` at https://github.com/TheWirelessPhoenix/pi-autocompacter.
