ModPackQT Free-to-Use Proprietary Software License Copyright (c) 2026 ModPackQT. All rights reserved. 1. Scope and earlier licenses These terms apply to the ModPackQT-owned first-party software supplied with this release ("Software"), beginning with node-red-contrib-modbus-modpackqt 4.0.0. They do not revoke or narrow rights previously granted under MIT or another license. Earlier copies remain governed by their applicable terms. The historical MIT notice is preserved in LICENSE-MIT-HISTORICAL. Where third-party or contributor code carries separate rights, those rights and required notices remain applicable. 2. Free use Subject to these terms, ModPackQT grants you a non-exclusive, royalty-free, non-transferable license to install and run unmodified copies of the Software for personal or business use. You may make copies reasonably necessary for installation, internal deployment and backup. No payment is required for this grant. Separate hosted services are not granted by this license. 3. Configuration and user-created material Normal documented configuration is permitted. Creating, editing, exporting and sharing your own Node-RED flows, register maps, settings, input/output data and independent scripts that use documented interfaces is permitted; this is not modification of the Software. Such material must not include unauthorized copies of the Software. This license does not claim ownership of your own material. 4. Restrictions Except with ModPackQT's prior written permission, as expressly permitted above, or where applicable law or another applicable license permits: (a) do not modify, translate, adapt or create derivative versions of the Software; (b) do not distribute, republish, sublicense, sell or rent copies of the Software or its source code to others; (c) do not remove copyright, license or other proprietary notices; and (d) do not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software. Publisher-authorized distribution through npm or other authorized channels is permitted. Possessing readable source does not itself grant modification or redistribution rights. These terms are legal conditions, not technical copy protection. 5. Third-party software Third-party dependencies and components remain subject to their own licenses. These terms do not override permissions granted for those components or any non-waivable legal rights. 6. Ownership and termination ModPackQT and the respective rights holders retain ownership of the Software. Rights not expressly granted are reserved. Subject to applicable law, this grant terminates on breach of these terms; termination does not revoke independent rights under an earlier or third-party license. 7. Disclaimer and liability TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. MODPACKQT AND THE RESPECTIVE RIGHTS HOLDERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR CLAIMS, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE, INCLUDING LOST DATA, EQUIPMENT DAMAGE OR PRODUCTION INTERRUPTION. NON-WAIVABLE STATUTORY RIGHTS REMAIN UNAFFECTED. You are responsible for validating the Software before use with equipment. 8. Questions and permission Contact ModPackQT at https://modpackqt.com/contact for permissions or questions. Do not use this release if you do not accept these terms, without prejudice to your independent rights under another applicable license.
