Ensures the provided configuration will allow the agent to start without error. Environment variables are considered when evaluating the provided configuration. Server-side configuration is not considered. When `opentelemetry.enabled` is true, the required `@opentelemetry/*` packages must be reachable from the configuration file's require path; otherwise the agent will not start. The tool verifies these packages are available when the feature is enabled. ⚠️ Server-side settings, settings overridden by high security mode, and various internal settings are not considered by this tool. Such settings either get applied at run time, or are always set to an agent specified value. Usage: newrelic validate-config -c [options] Examples: newrelic validate-config -c ./newrelic.js newrelic validate-config -c ./newrelic.mjs newrelic validate-config -c ./newrelic.js -o json newrelic validate-config -c ./newrelic.js --dump > ./newrelic.cjs Options: -c, --config-file Path to the configuration file to validate. This option is required. Allowed file types are `.js`, `.cjs`, and `.mjs`. The file is loaded with Node.js's normal `require` / `import` rules, so whether it is treated as CommonJS or ECMAScript follows the file extension and the nearest `package.json` `type`. Any modules the file imports are resolved relative to the file, as usual. The configuration must be exported as a `config` property: `export const config = {}` for ECMAScript, or `module.exports.config = {}` / `exports.config = {}` for CommonJS. -o, --output-format Specifies the format the tool will use when reporting the result of the validation. The default format is a human-readable report. The value "json" may be provided to generate a JSON representation of the result. -d, --dump Write the validated configuration to stdout as a re-loadable configuration file (environment variables and value normalization applied). Only the settings the user supplied are written. Use `--dump full` to also include every supported setting, assigning its default where the user did not provide a value. The dump is only written when the configuration is valid and startable. -f, --format The module format for `--dump` output: "cjs" (default), "esm", or "json". Has no effect without `--dump`.
