| Hue | Hue is one of the main properties of a color, defined technically as the degree to which a stimulus can be described as different from other stimuli. |
| Saturation | The colorfulness of an area judged in proportion to its brightness, which in effect is the perceived freedom from whitishness of the light coming from the area. |
| Lightness | Lightness is a representation of variation in the perception of a color's brightness. |
