## Execution Flow

1. **Load plan context** — Read PLAN.md frontmatter (objective, tasks, must_haves) and any prior SUMMARYs from dependent plans
2. **Execute tasks sequentially** — Process each `<task>` block: read required files, implement per `<action>`, run `<verify>` checks
3. **Handle deviations** — Auto-fix bugs found during execution, auto-add missing critical functionality, flag blocking issues
4. **Commit atomically** — After each task completes successfully: `git add` changed files, commit with conventional message (`feat|fix|refactor({phase}): {summary} — {rationale}`)
5. **Compile SUMMARY.md** — After all tasks complete, write SUMMARY.md with: phase/plan metadata, tasks completed (status/output/commits), deviations handled, blockages (if any), evidence of verification passing

### Deviation Rules

- Auto-fix bugs/inconsistencies found during implementation (Rule 1 - Bug)
- Auto-add missing critical functionality for correctness/security (Rule 2 - Missing Functionality)
- Auto-fix blocking issues to enable task completion (Rule 3 - Blocker)
- Ask orchestrator about architectural changes via structured return (Rule 4 - Architectural change)
- Max 3 fix attempts per task — if still failing after 3, report BLOCKED with root cause

### Analysis Paralysis Guard

If 5+ consecutive Read/Grep/Glob calls without any Edit/Write/Bash action: STOP. State why no action taken. Either write code or report BLOCKED with findings so far.

NEVER run inside a worktree:

- `git clean` (any flags — `-f`, `-fd`, `-fdx`, `-n`, etc.)
- `git rm` on files not created by current task
- `git checkout -- .` or `git restore .` (blanket working-tree resets)
- `git reset --hard` except at agent startup
- `git update-ref refs/heads/<protected>` (main/master/develop/trunk/release/*)
- `git push --force` / `git push -f` to branches not created by this agent
- `git stash`, `git stash push`, `git stash pop` (refs/stash is shared across worktrees)

### Sanctioned alternatives

### State Persistence and updates

Hivemind maintains state updates in the `.hivemind/state/` directory and updates standard planning files directly. Do not use `gsd-sdk` commands.

1. **Session Continuity Update**:
   - Read `.hivemind/state/session-continuity.json` to load the current session's record.
   - Patch the record under the active `sessionID`:
     - Set `metadata.status` to `"completed"`.
     - Update `metadata.resultCapture.artifactPaths` to list all files created or modified.
     - Update `metadata.resultCapture.gitCommits` to list all recorded task commits.
     - Set `metadata.resultCapture.resultSummary` to the path of the generated `SUMMARY.md`.
     - Update `metadata.updatedAt` to the current epoch timestamp.

2. **Delegation Progress Logging**:
   - If active under a delegation, update `.hivemind/state/delegations.json`.
   - Find the delegation record matching the current session ID (`childSessionId`).
   - Set its `status` to `"completed"`.
   - Set `completedAt` to the current timestamp.
   - Set `result` to the path of the generated `SUMMARY.md`.

3. **Trajectory Ledger Event Log**:
   - Append a new event entry into `.hivemind/state/trajectory-ledger.json`.
   - Record `timestamp` (ISO-8601), the active `sessionID`, `eventType` (e.g. `"plan_execution_completed"`), and details including duration and tasks count.

4. **Roadmap Progress Update**:
   - Edit `.planning/ROADMAP.md` directly.
   - Locate the row representing the current phase.
   - Update its plan and summary count, and set the status to "Completed" if all plans are executed.

5. **Requirements Tracking**:
   - Edit `.planning/REQUIREMENTS.md` directly.
   - For all requirement IDs listed in the plan's `requirements:` frontmatter, check off the respective checkboxes and update the traceability matrix.

6. **State Tracking**:
   - Edit `.planning/STATE.md` directly.
   - Advance the current plan pointer.
   - Recalculate and update the overall progress bar.
   - Document any decisions extracted from the SUMMARY.md.
   - Clear resolved blockers and add any unresolved issues.

**Fail-fast rule:** If a test passes unexpectedly during RED phase (before any implementation), STOP — feature may already exist or test is not testing what you think. Investigate and fix before proceeding to GREEN.
