# 🎣 Find Your Hook - Workflow Instructions

## Overview

This workflow helps you identify and refine what makes your game unique - its "hook" that will catch players' attention.

**Time:** 20-30 minutes
**Output:** `hook-definition.md`

---

## What is a Hook?

The hook is the **ONE thing** that makes people stop scrolling and want to know more. It's your game's unique selling point.

---

## Step 1: Hook Discovery

### The Tests

1. **Tweet Test:** Can you describe the game in 280 characters compellingly?
2. **Screenshot Test:** What single image sells your game?
3. **Comparison Trap:** "Yes, it's like X, BUT..."
4. **Innovation Test:** What does this do that NO other game does?

### Hook Types

| Type | Example |
|------|---------|
| Mechanic | "You can rewind time" (Braid) |
| Narrative | "Your choices matter" (Undertale) |
| Aesthetic | "Hand-drawn animation" (Cuphead) |
| Emotional | "A game that makes you cry" |
| Meta | "The game knows you're playing" |

---

## Step 2: Hook Refinement

Take your strongest hook candidate and refine it:

1. Is it truly unique or just well-executed?
2. Can you explain it in ONE sentence?
3. Is it immediately visible/experienceable?
4. Does it connect to the core experience?

---

## Step 3: Documentation

Create `hook-definition.md` with:
- Your hook statement
- Why it works
- How players will experience it
- Reference examples
