# Individual fixer functions

Import individual fixers from `ftfy-js/fixes`:

```ts
import { decode_escapes, fix_line_breaks, unescape_html } from "ftfy-js/fixes";
```

| Function | Operation |
| --- | --- |
| `unescape_html` | Decode semicolon-terminated HTML5 entities and safe uppercase variants. |
| `remove_terminal_escapes` | Remove ANSI terminal formatting escapes. |
| `uncurl_quotes` | Convert curly single and double quotes to ASCII quotes. |
| `fix_latin_ligatures` | Expand common Latin ligatures and legacy digraphs. |
| `fix_character_width` | Normalize fullwidth and halfwidth compatibility forms. |
| `fix_line_breaks` | Convert CRLF, CR, NEL, line separator, and paragraph separator to LF. |
| `fix_surrogates` | Preserve valid UTF-16 pairs and replace unpaired surrogates. |
| `remove_control_chars` | Remove the same likely-unintended control ranges as upstream. |
| `remove_bom` | Strip leading U+FEFF byte-order marks. |
| `decode_escapes` | Decode Python-compatible `\x`, `\u`, `\U`, octal, named, and short escapes. |
| `restore_byte_a0` | Restore a lost A0 continuation byte inside likely UTF-8. |
| `replace_lossy_sequences` | Collapse lossy UTF-8-like byte sequences to U+FFFD. |
| `decode_inconsistent_utf8` | Repair mojibake embedded inside otherwise unrelated text. |
| `fix_c1_controls` | Interpret C1 controls as sloppy Windows-1252. |

`restore_byte_a0` and `replace_lossy_sequences` accept and return `Uint8Array`;
the other listed functions accept and return strings.
