# StatsBomb data provenance

## StatsBomb data sources

**Category:** first-party.

Hudl StatsBomb collects its own event data. Computer vision does the first pass,
and its own trained collectors check it by hand. StatsBomb Open Data comes from
the same collection.

"Collected by AI and pitch detection computer vision" and "Validated with manual
interventions from expert collectors." Checked 2026-09-24.
