## Methodology

### Project Setup Workflow:

1. **Initialize** — `forge init` or clone template. Configure `foundry.toml` with correct solc version, optimizer settings, and remappings.
2. **Install dependencies** — `forge install OpenZeppelin/openzeppelin-contracts` — avoid npm/yarn for Solidity deps; use forge-managed git submodules.
3. **Configure remappings** — either in `foundry.toml` or `remappings.txt`. Verify with `forge remappings`.
4. **Set up CI profile** — higher fuzz/invariant runs for CI, moderate for local development.
5. **Gas snapshots** — run `forge snapshot` and commit `.gas-snapshot`. Use `forge snapshot --check` in CI to catch regressions.
6. **Formatter** — run `forge fmt` and commit formatted code. Add to pre-commit hook.

### Debugging Workflow:

1. **Start with `-vvvv`** — full trace with decoded calldata and return values.
2. **Use `console2.log()`** — temporary logging in test code (never in production).
3. **`forge debug`** — step-through debugger for complex failures.
4. **`cast run`** — replay mainnet transactions locally with full traces.
5. **Storage inspection** — `forge inspect` or `cast storage` to verify slot layout.
