# Vendored upstream — provenance and integrity

This directory is a **verbatim copy** of the official ZCode `android-emulator`
plugin. It is not hand-edited. Regenerate with:

## Why the compiled artifact is vendored

The upstream plugin is distributed as a **compiled, self-contained stdio MCP
server** (`dist/mcp/server.js`, bundled with esbuild, importing only `node:*`
builtins). Its TypeScript sources live in `apps/zcode-cli/packages/android-emulator-plugin`
inside the ZCode monorepo but are **not included in the open-source snapshot**
(the package is declared in `pnpm-lock.yaml` yet absent from the published tree),
and no public Z.ai repository publishes them. The distributed artifact is
therefore the only faithful source of truth.

`dist/providers/*.js` and `dist/lib/*.js` are kept alongside the bundle because
they are unminified, readable esbuild output and document the exact behavior the
bundle implements. `dist/mcp/server.js` does **not** import them — it is fully
self-contained.

## License

The upstream package declares `MIT` in both its `package.json` and
`.zcode-plugin/plugin.json`, and no separate `LICENSE` file is shipped inside the
plugin directory. The containing ZCode repository is licensed
Apache-2.0 (`LICENSE`) with attribution notices in `NOTICE.md` and
`THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md`. The bundled MCP server embeds
`@modelcontextprotocol/server` and `zod`; upstream built it with
`legalComments: "none"`, so no third-party notices survive inside the bundle.

Attribution for this port is recorded in the package `README.md` and in
`src/index.js`.
