The "Three Shastas" include the gigantic Shasta Dam, the vivid blue waters of Shasta and, in the distance, the snow-capped peak of Mt. Shasta.  The dam, with the highest overflow spillway in the world, forms Shasta Lake--the largest reservoir in the state, with 30,000 surface acres and 370 miles of shoreline.
