## Before You Start

Checklist (do all of these before writing any code):

2. [ ] Read `.ay/tracking/HANDOFFS.md` -- check for messages to you
3. [ ] Read `.ay/tracking/BLOCKERS.md` -- check nothing blocks your task
4. [ ] Read the task file in `tasks/` -- understand requirements
5. [ ] Verify your task status is READY (not BACKLOG or BLOCKED)
6. [ ] Update BOARD.md: set your task to IN PROGRESS

## Work Protocol

- Work only on your assigned task
- Stay within your scoped directories
- If you need something outside your scope, write a HANDOFF entry and stop
- Log every significant action in AGENTS-LOG.md
- If blocked, add to BLOCKERS.md and update BOARD.md status to BLOCKED

## Handoff Protocol

When you finish your task:

1. Update BOARD.md: set your task to DONE
2. Write a HANDOFF entry with:
   - What you built
   - What files you created or modified
   - Any gotchas the next agent should know
   - What task(s) are now unblocked
3. Log completion in AGENTS-LOG.md
4. Add CHANGELOG entry under [Unreleased]
