"description": "
Autonomous AI agents are increasingly entrusted with mutating shell environments, filesystems, and databases via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). However, existing safety mechanisms rely almost exclusively on negative string matching (e.g., regex filters for 'rm -rf'), leading to catastrophic failure modes: false rejections, agent retry loops, unredacted credential leaks in tool outputs, and silent filesystem corruption. We present Bartholomew Trust Protocol (BTP v2.4), an inline, transparent MCP security proxy that transforms agent execution into an atomic, transactional runtime. BTP introduces three core primitives: (1) In-Memory Copy-on-Write Micro-Rollbacks, capturing byte snapshots of target paths before mutation and restoring pristine state in 2.30 µs (P50) upon invariant violation; (2) Bi-Directional Credential Scrubbing, neutralizing API keys and tokens across incoming client arguments and server stdout streams with 100% precision; and (3) Chained Merkle Trajectories, binding multi-turn session receipts into an Ed25519-signed state graph via RFC 8785 Canonical JSON. Empirical evaluation across 50,000 adversarial turns demonstrates zero credential leakage, sub-5µs rollback latencies, and 100% offline mathematical verifiability with zero external cloud dependencies.
",
