## Root Cause

Python 3.12 enforces stricter event loop finalization. When background workers terminated, un-cancelled pending tasks threw `RuntimeError: Event loop is closed`.

## Solution

Applied graceful task cancellation and awaited remaining task cancellation before loop finalization.
