­ Volunteered to aid in control system design for a NASA/Optomec, Inc. funded ALSS (Automated Laser Sintering System) project with former professor Dr. Wu and collaborator Dr. Wilson. The project ' s aim is to design a proof-of-concept laser control system for commercial aerosol circuit printing machines which use laser sintering.

­ Volunteered research with NASA researcher Dr. Edmond Wilson to develop a low cost visible spectrum spectrometer. Was responsible for completing the project ' s milestone of obtaining publication quality spectra from repurposed parts. Am now collaborating with past project contributors to publish results with Arkansas Academy of Science.

­ Designed and prototyped motor control electronics, embedded DSP circuits and software, power distribution, and user input controls for an exoskeletal device which interfaced onto a stroke patient ' s hand.

• ­ Became experienced in the LPKF PCB manufacturing process and automated IC placement
• Used single DSP controller to manage 10 micro DCmotors, handle communication to external ADC and user input, and control power distribution
• Gained experience in biological interfaces (skin contact electrodes, ergonomic designs, natural anchor spots for assisted movement)
• Gained multidisiplinary experience with biomedical team, physical therapists, and business collaborators
