## Installation

Vivaldi can be [installed](/index.php/Installed "Installed") with [vivaldi](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vivaldi/) or [vivaldi-snapshot](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vivaldi-snapshot/). Prebuilt packages can alternatively be found in the [herecura](/index.php/Unofficial_user_repositories#herecura "Unofficial user repositories") unofficial repository.

To use [Qt](/index.php/Qt "Qt") instead of [GTK+](/index.php/GTK%2B "GTK+") dialogs for file selections just install [kdialog](https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?name=kdialog).

## Extensions

Vivaldi is compatible with most of Chrome's extensions. These can be installed direct on [Chrome Web Store](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions). To see which extensions are installed/enabled search for `vivaldi://extensions` or just `extensions`.

See also [Wikipedia:Google Chrome Extension](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Chrome_Extension "wikipedia:Google Chrome Extension").

## Media playback

For additional support concerning audio and video playback, install corresponding package for your version of choice: [vivaldi-ffmpeg-codecs](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vivaldi-ffmpeg-codecs/), [vivaldi-snapshot-ffmpeg-codecs](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vivaldi-snapshot-ffmpeg-codecs/).

You may install [pepper-flash](https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?name=pepper-flash) to play flash media.

## Troubleshooting

### Unable to set Vivaldi as default web browser

You have to edit [default applications](/index.php/Default_applications "Default applications") manually. Vivaldi is not able to recognize, how to do it by itself.
