# Make comparisons explicit and fair

ID: cmp-comparison. Sources: [S18](https://www.nngroup.com/articles/cards-component/), [S22](https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG22/Understanding/meaningful-sequence.html).

Teach actual dimensions of a choice: scope, suitability, inclusions, supported timing, and next step. Use when comparable facts exist. Avoid invented tiers, superiority claims, or a default winner.

Application A: a semantic table aligns shared attributes. Application B: a needs-based guide pairs situations with relevant services when tabular comparison would be artificial.

Counterexample: equal plan cards contain incomparable claims, suggesting equivalence the evidence does not support.

Mobile: preserve labels and row/column meaning. Appropriate accessible overflow or labeled sequences may work; neither is universal.

Storyboard: state the decision and comparison dimensions. Review: answer the visitor's choice question and check that essential qualifications remain visible and understandable.

## Authority and use

This is an original design-teaching hypothesis. It is advisory and does not change factual, accessibility, or functional requirements. Adapt it to verified business evidence and inspect the current render before accepting an outcome. The applications above are contrasting examples, not copyable site presets.
