A verdict that clears or crosses the turn deadline behaves exactly as before. agy's own "waiting for background task(s)" notice would have been a faster signal, but it is print-mode only — the persistent stream-json process never prints it — so the watch is the mechanism. Aborting a turn (Esc) now SIGTERMs the process groups agy spawned for its commands and escalates to SIGKILL, instead of leaving them running: agy ≥ 1.2.0 runs every `run_command` as its own group leader, so killing agy's own group never reached them, contradicting the incomplete-tool message shown to the model. A turn agy already parked on background work is exempt — aborting the *turn* must not kill the dev server the user asked for — which is exactly what the parked watch now proves before the abort lands. Two smaller defects found while verifying the above: the parked grace overwrote a pending stall timer without clearing it, leaking a handle that kept pi's event loop alive (print mode would not exit) until the tool budget expired; and a turn that ended without a result because it was superseded reported a bare "agy turn ended without a result event" instead of naming the cause, because the runtime's generation fences closed the controller silently.
