# openAccountingPeriod

## Overview

Opens an accounting period so journal entries can post to it (NEVER_OPENED → OPEN,
or CLOSED → OPEN via reopen). Thin wrapper over the native `openPeriod`.

| FINANCIAL_ACCOUNTING_ACCOUNTING_PERIOD_NOT_FOUND | The accounting period does not exist |
| FINANCIAL_ACCOUNTING_INVALID_STATUS_TRANSITION | The period cannot be opened from its current status |
