# deactivateUser

## Overview

Deactivates an active user, transitioning from ACTIVE to INACTIVE status. Users cannot deactivate their own account.

## Exception Handling

| Error Code | Description |
| --- | --- |
| USER_MANAGEMENT_USER_NOT_FOUND | The specified user does not exist |
| USER_MANAGEMENT_INVALID_STATUS_TRANSITION | The user is not in ACTIVE status |
| SELF_DEACTIVATION | Cannot deactivate your own account |
| INSUFFICIENT_PERMISSION | The caller does not have permission to perform this operation |
