# createStorageLocation

## Overview

Creates a new storage location within a site. Storage locations are flat — there is no zone/bin hierarchy. The storage location is created in ACTIVE status and is immediately available for stock operations.

## Exception Handling

| Error Code | Description |
| --- | --- |
| INVENTORY_SITE_NOT_FOUND | The specified site does not exist |
| INVENTORY_SITE_INACTIVE | The specified site is not in active status |
| INVENTORY_DUPLICATE_LOCATION_NAME | A storage location with this name or code already exists within the site |
