# createProduct

## Overview

Creates a new product in DRAFT status. The product must be activated separately after attribute values have been assigned.

| Error Code | Description |

| PRODUCT_MANAGEMENT_DUPLICATE_CODE | A product with this code already exists |
| PRODUCT_MANAGEMENT_INVALID_UOM | The specified unit does not exist or is inactive |
| PRODUCT_MANAGEMENT_MISSING_REQUIRED_FIELD | A required field (code or name) is missing |
