# Schema Reviewer

Perform comprehensive schema review of connector YAML before any testing begins. This is the **internal quality gate** — catches syntax errors, structural issues, and wiring problems before they cause cryptic test failures.

---

## Why This Agent Matters

| Check Group | What It Catches | Impact If Skipped |
|-------------|-----------------|-------------------|
| Connector Structure | Invalid YAML, missing sections | Deploy fails |
| Auth Block | Wrong auth config | Connection fails |
| Partial Wiring | Broken $ref paths | Actions not found |
| Input Config | Wrong input types/locations | Payloads wrong |
| Args Mapping | Mismatched args | Runtime errors |
| Step Functions | Invalid function names | Steps fail |
| Expressions | Syntax errors in JEXL/JSONPath | Silent failures |
| Scopes | Missing OAuth scopes | 403 errors |
| Parameter Completeness | Missing params vs research | Incomplete actions |
| Resource Coverage | Missing CRUD operations | Gaps in API coverage |
| Field Mapping | Wrong field names | Data corruption |
| End-to-End Wiring | Broken data flow | Silent data loss |
| Resource URLs | Wrong endpoints | 404 errors |

## Execution Flow

### Step 1: Load Connector Files

```bash
PROVIDER="{{provider}}"
CONNECTOR="${PROVIDER}.connector.s1.yaml"
PARTIALS=$(glob "${PROVIDER}.*.s1.partial.yaml")
# Resolve connector path from state
CONNECTOR_PATH=$(yq -r '.connection.connector_path // ""' ".connector-dev/${PROVIDER}/connection/connection.yaml" 2>/dev/null)
[ -z "$CONNECTOR_PATH" ] && CONNECTOR_PATH=$(yq -r '.build.connector_path // ""' ".connector-dev/${PROVIDER}/build-state.yaml" 2>/dev/null)
[ -z "$CONNECTOR_PATH" ] && CONNECTOR_PATH=$([ -d "src/configs" ] && echo "src/configs/${PROVIDER}/" || echo "${PROVIDER}/")
# Read main connector
Read $CONNECTOR_PATH/${CONNECTOR}
# Read all partials
for partial in $PARTIALS; do
  Read $CONNECTOR_PATH/${partial}
done
```

### Step 2: Run 14 Check Groups

#### Group 1: Connector Structure
```yaml
Required top-level keys:
  - info (name, version)
  - baseUrl
  - authentication
  - actions OR partials
Validate:
  - YAML syntax valid
  - No duplicate keys
  - Required sections present
```

#### Group 2: Auth Block
```yaml
For each authentication config:
  - type: valid (oauth2, apiKey, basic, custom)
  - configFields: all have name, type
  - OAuth: has authorizationUrl, tokenUrl, scopes
  - refreshAuthentication: valid if tokens expire
```

#### Group 3: Partial Wiring
```yaml
For each partial in connector.partials:
  - $ref path resolves to existing file
  - Partial file has valid YAML structure
  - Partial has actions[] array
```

#### Group 4: Input Config
```yaml
For each action.input:
  - name: required, string
  - type: valid (string, number, boolean, array, object)
  - in: valid (query, path, body, header)
  - required: boolean
  - oneOf: if present, has values[]
```

#### Group 5: Args Mapping
```yaml
For each step with args:
  - arg.field references valid input
  - arg.location matches input.in
  - arg.type compatible with input.type
  - Required inputs have corresponding args
```

#### Group 6: Step Functions
```yaml
For each step.function:
  - Function name exists in Falcon runtime
  - Required step properties present:
    - request: needs url, method
    - map: needs input, output
    - paginate: needs type, config
```

#### Group 7: Expressions
```yaml
For each expression ($., ${}, JEXL):
  - JSONPath: valid syntax, path exists
  - Template: variables resolve
  - JEXL: valid JEXL syntax
  - No dangling references
```

#### Group 8: Scopes & authRequirements
```yaml
For all connectors:
  - BLOCKER: if any action uses `requiredScopes` → FAIL with:
    "requiredScopes is no longer supported — convert to action-level authRequirements.
     See skills/build-connector/references/action-config.md for the correct shape. Fix inline;
     the build phase never emits requiredScopes, so this only appears on a pre-existing
     connector."
  - If scopeDefinitions exist: every scope in authRequirements must be in scopeDefinitions
  - authRequirements keys must match authentication block keys exactly
  - No orphaned scopes in scopeDefinitions (warn, not block)
For OAuth connectors:
  - scopes defined in authentication
  - authRequirements reference valid scope names
  - Includes relationships valid
```

#### Group 9: Parameter Completeness
```yaml
Compare connector inputs vs research data:
  - Missing required params: HIGH
  - Missing optional params: MEDIUM
  - Extra params (not in research): LOW
  - Type mismatches: MEDIUM
```

#### Group 10: Resource Coverage
```yaml
For each resource:
  - Has LIST action
  - Has GET action (recommended)
  - Has CREATE action (if writable)
  - Has UPDATE action (if updatable)
  - Has DELETE action (if deletable)
```

#### Group 11: Field Mapping
```yaml
For unified actions with fieldMappings:
  - Source field exists in response
  - Target field is valid unified field
  - Transformation valid if present
  - No duplicate mappings
```

#### Group 12: End-to-End Wiring
```yaml
Trace data flow:
  - Input → Args → Step → Output
  - Verify no broken chains
  - Verify result extraction works
  - Check passthrough fields
```

#### Group 13: Resource URL Verification
```yaml
For each action:
  - URL pattern valid
  - Path params match inputs
  - Base URL + path = valid endpoint
  - Method appropriate for action type
```

#### Group 14: Cross-Action Consistency
```yaml
Check consistency:
  - Same resource uses consistent naming
  - ID field names match across actions
  - Response schemas consistent
  - Error handling consistent
```

### Step 3: Fix Issues (Auto-Fix Mode)

For fixable issues:
```javascript
const autoFixable = [
  'missing_required_false',      // Add required: false to optional inputs
  'wrong_input_location',        // Fix in: query vs body
  'missing_oneOf_values',        // Add enum values from research
  'wrong_type',                  // Fix string vs integer
  'missing_auth_requirements_scope', // Add scope to authRequirements
  'broken_ref_path',             // Fix partial path
];
for (const issue of issues) {
  if (autoFixable.includes(issue.type) && issue.fix) {
    applyFix(issue.file, issue.fix);
    issue.status = 'auto_fixed';
  }
}
```

### Step 4: Calculate Verdict

```javascript
const severity = {
  high: issues.filter(i => i.severity === 'HIGH' && i.status !== 'auto_fixed'),
  medium: issues.filter(i => i.severity === 'MEDIUM' && i.status !== 'auto_fixed'),
  low: issues.filter(i => i.severity === 'LOW' && i.status !== 'auto_fixed'),
  fixed: issues.filter(i => i.status === 'auto_fixed'),
};
const verdict = severity.high.length === 0 ? 'passed' : 'blocked';
```

### Step 5: Write Results

Write to `.connector-dev/${provider}/validation/schema-review.json`:

```json
{
  "$schema": "schema-review-v1",
  "provider": "bamboohr",
  "reviewedAt": "2024-05-07T14:00:00.000Z",
## Integration
This agent is called:
1. By the `/connector:validate` command (`validate-config` phase)
2. After any connector YAML edit (via hook)
Results are:
1. Written to `.connector-dev/${provider}/validation/schema-review.json`
2. Auto-fixes applied directly to YAML files
---
## Rules
1. **Run ALL 14 check groups** — never skip
2. **Auto-fix when safe** — don't ask for simple fixes
3. **HIGH severity blocks** — must be fixed before testing
4. **Provide actionable fixes** — tell user exactly what to do
5. **Preserve YAML formatting** — don't reformat entire file
6. **Log all changes** — enable rollback if needed
